Week 8

Hey sorry i dont have a ton of time but i just want to say that im doing good. We had stake confrence this week and so our mission pres came and we did interviews and everything and i just feel so close to him now. His wife speaks no spanish and im the only english speaker in my zone so we got to talk a ton. 

    We have a baptism this sunday and if all goes well four more next sunday. Pres Cluff said that our area hasnt had a baptism in over two months so it made me feel better than every area isnt this hard. Really its like 1 out of every 50 contacts will even give you the time of day. 

    Just a little story though, Every sunday we eat at this ladies house that live across from us and if you didnt know better youd think it was a shed on a farm. The meals are interesting haha but you got to eat i guess. She gave us Cafe de Tortilla and i thought it was a drink to eat w your tortillas but no. Idk exactly how its made but i think it goes like this. 1Burn tortillla untill its all black. 2Put in hot water and serve. Probably the grossest thing ive ever had haahah. but besides that, thats really all thats going on.

Week 7

So another week down and its getting better!! Still hard bc i cant understand and speak but im just excited when i can express myself haha. This week has been hard but thers always little miracles. I went on splits last wednesday and it was great to see how other people teach and other parts of the area..

   On Sunday there was a broadcast to Guatemala from SLC so we all went to Patzacia in a bus with one of our inv. families. we've been teaching this family for a little while and they show promise and were pushing for a baptism this Sunday if all goes well. But Sunday was rough for whatever reason and i just felt down and then i looked over at the door and in walked one of my teachers from the CCM!!! so i got to talk to him after and it helped me bc it was the first time i talked to someone i can have a conversation with. The advice he gave me helped me a ton!! 

    Today we have one of the APs with my companion and i which is going to help so much bc hes a gringo so i can talk to him and he can help me understand spanish and everyhing so im excited for that!! Other than that everything is going well, I remembered my camera today so i will send some pics from the CCM and our house haha. 

    Thank you everyone for your emails and im so sorry if i cant get to all of them. but i love you all and im praying for everyone back home

1st transfers Week 6

1st Transfer

   This is all crazy. I have no idea what I'm doing haha. Monday we got up at three and went to the mission home and had interviews and everything and then went to a church to meet up with all the missionaries that are being transferred. I said goodbye to one of the elders that i was closest to and that was honestly the hardest goodbye of the CCM haha. But my area is called Patricia and bot is it culture shock haha. i honestly thought i wasn't going to be affected that much but we got here and everything is just crazy. I cant understand anyone and no one can understand me. My companion is from Veracruz! his name is Elder Osorio. He is a cool dude but he speaks no english and its honesty pretty hard. I just feel alone. The only english I've heard was from a motivational video that we watched haha. I hope the language comes fast bc this is pretty hard haha. Our emailing and everything is kinda setup weird. Our p day is Monday but we end and hour early and then in our district meeting the next day we take an hour to email but this week bc of transfers, pday was Tuesday so thats why I'm emailing today. But from here on I will email Tuesdays around this time. I can send pictures now except i forgot my camera at the house so i will have to do it next week. 

    The actual town where i am is called Zeragoza and its all farm land in the mountains and its freezing here. I only brought like five long sleeve shirts which sucked bc thats all i wear here haha. Idk what else to day bc i don't really have words to describe my feelings rn. ITs pretty hard, by far the hardest thing I've ever done but Im just waiting for the days when there is more good feelings that bad haha. Anyways I'm sorry i couldn't send pics, ill be sure to next week. And I hope this week goes by fast!

Week 5

Week 5

This is my last week in the CCM which is exciting! We leave monday morning so im not sure when i will be able to email next. Everything is going well here, learning a lot about everything! Spanish is going great! We went to the temple today and i did the whole session in spanish so ive gotten to where as long as they speak slow i can understand. 

   Weve gotten closer to more of the new elders! there's this latino district going to Coban where thers a lot of q'qechi speakers. So even being latino, they are here for 9 weeks which would be terrible ahah. But they are all so smart and the coolest kids. They all Came up to me and asked me if my first name was John Bc of the movie John Carter and so i told them that it was my dads name and then told them the story and they all wanted my autograph bc i was the son of John Carter haha. Its fun to talk to them bc its hard for them to practice their language bc no one else speaks it so they practice their english and we respond in spanish which helps a ton!! 

    Other than that nothing much happens, I mean there is but in this hour we have to email they adrenaline is crazy so i cant focus to think of things haha. Im pumped to get to the field, The CCM has gotten to where Its enjoyable most of the time and doesnt suck as bad haha. Im just thankfull for my district and the examples they are to me!! 

   Also im really sorry again for my spelling and mistakes bc i dont ever have time to proofread haha but i love you all and the next time you here from me i will be somewhere else in guatemala!!
