Week 4

Another week down. This weeks been kinda weird but i don't have that much time so it will probably be short. We got new elders and they are all pretty different than the last ones haha. Its hard for them to come in when we are expecting them to be like the last elders and then they are all kinda lame haha. Buts its made our district a lot closer which is good. I love those guys.
On sunday we had the musical number and it was so dope. We sang Cuando Hay Amor. So we did the first verse in spanish, and then the two elders that are tongan sang the second verse in tongan and then the last one we all sang in spanish and it was awesome. We sing again this sunday so ill let you know how that goes then haha.
In other news, there are way more elders this transfer so we got kicked out of the CCM basically haha. theres a house that the church boght next to the CCM that is now our classroom but it wasnt ready till yesterday so all week we were homeless haha but the new class sucks and smells super bad haha but its cool, only have like two more weeks!! thats about it from me today. Love and miss you all.
   Until next week,

Week 3

Week 3

This week went by pretty fast! Class is the worst bc we just do the same thing every day all day long. this week was really sad though bc its our three week mark today which means its the Latinos and the north Americans, that were here already, left to the field today. the north Americans weren't that big of deal bc they were kinda lame haha but the latinos were on our floor and we were best friends with them, they are my favorite bc they all come from like nothing but they are all so kind and loving. most of them had like three ties for their whole mission so we all gave away a bunch of ties to them. last night was sad bc we had to say goodbye and there were a few that we got so close to bc they were struggling and we all helped as a district and gave blessings and just made sure that they were okay so last night when we were saying goodbye, those guys were crying which made everyone else cry. we might not see some of them ever again which is crazy to me!

The other exciting thing wast that today, as our third week pday we got to go to a Zoo!! it was sweet mainly bc we got to leave this place other than to go to the temple which is right across the street. It was awesome to see more of the city!! i wish i could post pictures but they'll have to wait until I'm out of the CCM i guess. on our way back we got to stop at a Wendy's which was nice to eat American food and something other than from the CCM! and Matt, they have 4 for 4 here if you were wondering, its just 4 for 32 quetz haha
other than that nothing else really happened this week haha. Everything is going well with me, i just don't like feeling like I'm in a prison haha. But only three more Weeks! sorry for the email being bad and all over the place, i just don't have that much time today haha.
   Love you guys

Week 2

Week 2

This whole week has gone by faster than the first two days here lol. I have thought a lot about what i was going to say in my email bc honestly nothing much has happened haha. we go to class, eat, go back to class, the get a few minutes to play sports and there's always a huge volleyball tournament going on which is super fun but then we go back to class until dinner and then after dinner we usually teach an investigator and then plan our next lesson. So theres long days but short weeks if that makes sense.
The investigator lessons are going a lot better, i have enough Spanish to get through the lessons without notes and that feels pretty good. Its not correct Spanish by any means, but at least they understand ;) The hard thing though is we have a teacher in the morning and a different teacher at night and they never seem to be on the same page and so its frustrating when one tells us to do one thing and then we get in trouble with the other, thats one of the reasons I'm so excited to get out of here so I can teach the gosple to real people and let the spirit convert them instead of getting feedback on our Spanish. Idk why but i always feel good about a lesson until we get our feedback haha. but that will get better as time goes on.
I really love the guys in my district, they all know how to lift each other up and work harder. Every night we go sit out in the hall with the latino elders and sing songs and talk and they are honestly the funniest people I've ever met. they only have a week left in here so i hope we get more elders like that after them.
Anyways thats about all that happened this week, i cant send any pics while in the CCM because they don't want the computers to get viruses so those will have to wait a little while. But i love you guys and i hope you're doing well.
Spencer J, Grandma and Grandpa and anyone else who needs it, you're all in my prayers

First Week!!!

Its been one week here and honestly it kinda sucks haha. We got off the plane and didn't know where to go until we found some guys waiving at us from outside the airport haha. there was no sign or anything that said who they were but they just started taking our bags, so we just went with it hah. They took us through the city to the CCM (which is right by the temple) and we unloaded our bags and then went to work. we had breakfast and then emailed home but after that it was all classes all day long. i honeslty dont remember what happened what day because this week had all blurred together into a big long one that feels like i've been here for a month and a half. Our days are super long and its just class after class with like 30 to eat meals and then more class.
Guatemala is the most beautiful place ive ever seen. our ride here i was just smiling ear to ear because it was so cool, but then we got to the CCM and it honestly feels like a prison. sometimes i feel like im not learning anything and that i cant say anything but then i realize weve only been here a week and it makes me feel a little better about it. We've gone outside like three times to play sports or we went to the distribution enter across the street once but other than that we dont rally leave. I'm just so excited to get out in the field bc this place is the worst haha.
So we came in wiht a group of latinos that are here for three weeks and theyre honestly the funniest people youve ever met. they all speak very little english but we all joke around with them and its the best.
I've got a pretty cool district. My companion is Named Elder Dixon from rexburg and hes a goof, I love him so much. he talks like hes from idaho with his country accent and its so funny listening to him talk to the latinos haha. In my room is another companionship and they are super tight. Elder Durban is from shelly (He knows The carters from Shelly) and his companion is named Elder Fakahua. Hes tongan but lives in St George and is the funniest dude i know. The first night we all had like a heart to heart convo about everything and we are so freaking close now. it honstley seems like weve known eachother our whole lives. All of them have such a strong testimony.
The rest of our district is super cool. Theres a couple kids from Idaho and then our ZL is from boston and hes this big tall black dude and hes been teaching us all his boston slang haha hes hilarious. And then our DL is elder Fusi, who is also tongan, but hes from Cali, him and Elder Fakahua were instant friends from the start and the conversations they have kill me they just build off eachother and crack jokes the whole time and i die of laughter. They both talk in crazy slang like all the kids from ogden do and so its funny to hear them talk about gospel things bc they just sound like theyre from the hood. But the are all so spiritual and you can really feel it just being by them.
General conference was just what i needed. there were so many good talks and lessons that apply to everyones lives and i filled almost half my journal with just notes from it. We did get to watch it in english which was a big blessing and break from spanish.
We had our first "investigator" yesterday which was really just one of our teachers, and it sucked soo bad. i hated it bc i just felt so dumb. my companion doesnt speak almost any spanish so we planned out exactly what we were going to say and then we got in there and he was asking us questions and so we had to move around what we said but i missed  a lot of stuff he was trying to say to me bc he was talking so fast. But i felt bad bc i felt like i took over the lesson with the little spanish that i know and it just turned out terrible. but i guess thats what theyre for is to help us. Thats about all the time i have this week and i just want to say that i love and miss all of you and hope that everything is going okay. (Im sorry my spelling and grammar has been so bad, we have to type on these spanish keyboards and its hard to be fast and not make mistakes haha)
Also i dont have everyones email so mom can you forward it to the list?

 Until next week
