Its been one week here and honestly it kinda sucks haha. We got off the plane and didn't know where to go until we found some guys waiving at us from outside the airport haha. there was no sign or anything that said who they were but they just started taking our bags, so we just went with it hah. They took us through the city to the CCM (which is right by the temple) and we unloaded our bags and then went to work. we had breakfast and then emailed home but after that it was all classes all day long. i honeslty dont remember what happened what day because this week had all blurred together into a big long one that feels like i've been here for a month and a half. Our days are super long and its just class after class with like 30 to eat meals and then more class.
Guatemala is the most beautiful place ive ever seen. our ride here i was just smiling ear to ear because it was so cool, but then we got to the CCM and it honestly feels like a prison. sometimes i feel like im not learning anything and that i cant say anything but then i realize weve only been here a week and it makes me feel a little better about it. We've gone outside like three times to play sports or we went to the distribution enter across the street once but other than that we dont rally leave. I'm just so excited to get out in the field bc this place is the worst haha.
So we came in wiht a group of latinos that are here for three weeks and theyre honestly the funniest people youve ever met. they all speak very little english but we all joke around with them and its the best.
I've got a pretty cool district. My companion is Named Elder Dixon from rexburg and hes a goof, I love him so much. he talks like hes from idaho with his country accent and its so funny listening to him talk to the latinos haha. In my room is another companionship and they are super tight. Elder Durban is from shelly (He knows The carters from Shelly) and his companion is named Elder Fakahua. Hes tongan but lives in St George and is the funniest dude i know. The first night we all had like a heart to heart convo about everything and we are so freaking close now. it honstley seems like weve known eachother our whole lives. All of them have such a strong testimony.
The rest of our district is super cool. Theres a couple kids from Idaho and then our ZL is from boston and hes this big tall black dude and hes been teaching us all his boston slang haha hes hilarious. And then our DL is elder Fusi, who is also tongan, but hes from Cali, him and Elder Fakahua were instant friends from the start and the conversations they have kill me they just build off eachother and crack jokes the whole time and i die of laughter. They both talk in crazy slang like all the kids from ogden do and so its funny to hear them talk about gospel things bc they just sound like theyre from the hood. But the are all so spiritual and you can really feel it just being by them.
General conference was just what i needed. there were so many good talks and lessons that apply to everyones lives and i filled almost half my journal with just notes from it. We did get to watch it in english which was a big blessing and break from spanish.
We had our first "investigator" yesterday which was really just one of our teachers, and it sucked soo bad. i hated it bc i just felt so dumb. my companion doesnt speak almost any spanish so we planned out exactly what we were going to say and then we got in there and he was asking us questions and so we had to move around what we said but i missed a lot of stuff he was trying to say to me bc he was talking so fast. But i felt bad bc i felt like i took over the lesson with the little spanish that i know and it just turned out terrible. but i guess thats what theyre for is to help us. Thats about all the time i have this week and i just want to say that i love and miss all of you and hope that everything is going okay. (Im sorry my spelling and grammar has been so bad, we have to type on these spanish keyboards and its hard to be fast and not make mistakes haha)
Also i dont have everyones email so mom can you forward it to the list?
Until next week
